In May 1981, Brown Mackie College — Cincinnati opened a branch campus in Northern Kentucky. Brown Mackie College — Cincinnati was founded in Cincinnati, Ohio, in February 1927 as Southern Ohio Business College, a traditional business college. In 1964, the College was granted accreditation as a business school by the Association of Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS), and as a junior college of business by ACICS in 1972. In 1986, Brown Mackie College — Northern Kentucky moved to its current location in Fort Mitchell.

Brown Mackie College — Northern Kentucky provides media presentation rooms for special instructional needs, a library that provides instructional resources and academic support for both faculty and students, and qualified and experienced faculty committed to the academic and technical preparation of their students.

Brown Mackie College – Northern Kentucky is non-residential; students who are unable to commute daily from their homes may request assistance from the Office of Admissions in locating off-site housing. Brown Mackie College — Northern Kentucky is accessible by public transportation and provides ample parking at no additional charge. Smoking is prohibited in the building.
